The East Anglian kit Car Club

Classic Car show Kimbolton Castle.

19th July 2009

The show is now in its Eighteenth year!

It's organised jointly by the Sporting bears motor club and kimbolton castle Rotary Club. The aim is to raise money for different charities (15K in 2008)

Once again, the show is in the magnificent parkland setting of Kimbolton Castle (by kind permission of Kimbolton School ), where Queen Catherine of Aragon, the wife of Henry VIII, was confined until her death in 1535.

More car clubs present than any other show in this area.(700 plus in 2008) one of the favorite shows of the season.

As previous years we joined the SG7 kit car group.

We were also joined this year by members of RHOCAR from Northamptonshire, Beds & Bucks, East Anglian  and Herts.

Also some Locost builder’s members joined us.

This created a good turn out of cars to our pitch (29 someone told me)

Kimbolton Classic Car Show 2007

Kimbolton classic car show and charity event organized by the Sporting

Bears Motor Club

Eight members of the club attended the show at Kimbolton castle.  Five cars left

Newmarket services at 08.40.

We arrived at the show at 09.30 and had to wait in a queue before getting in.

As normal we joined the SG7 kit car group and were made to feel more than welcome.

We had a total of 15 cars between the two groups.

The show had several car clubs in attendance ranging from vintage to modern sports.

There were also a few kit car groups.Tiger owners of East Anglia, Dax owners,

Westfield owners, Ultima owners.

We had a great day out talking and viewing the many cars and the weather was far to us

until 15.30.

At this time it started to rain and a mad rush to cover the cars or push them under a

gazebo started.

The rain became increasingly worse and became a thunder storm, after about an hour

it blow over and we made our move home.

This was not without incident, in normal style I missed a turning and ended up on the

wrong road however we soon found ourselves on the correct one and on our way home.

Thanks to those that attended. I hop you enjoyed it as I did.

Kimbolton Castle Classic car show 2005

I haven’t got a lot to say only that the day was a great success.

We had an almost equal attendance between the SG7 members and us.

The sun shined and the cars were there in abundance.

We had an excellence BBQ finely cooked (eventually) by Andy, Mike and Mark.

Thanks to all of you for your contributions towards the BBQ.

It was nice to meet John Cobbe from Sawtry, Marilyn & Derek Overfield from Melton Mowbray and Graham’s better half Rita.

Thanks to Bob for a lot of these Photos.
