Treasure Hunt 2008
It’s been a lot of years since we have had a treasure hunt.
When we last ran one it was won by Andy Petrie and part of his prize was to organize the next Treasure hunt, and this he did superbly with the help of Michaela.
This took place on
Unfortunately numbers were low, with only six cars present.
We started off from the Park Hotel at Diss from 11.30 at intervals of two minutes or so.
Answers to the set questions were sought from several villages around the Diss area.
Starting at Scole, Dicklebrugh, Pulham Market.Starston, Harleston,
It was pretty easy to guess where the finish point would be. The clue was “we won’t be inside the church”. Where else could we meet, other than the pub?
Anyway I started off second from last and ended up finishing last I had a couple of wrong turns along the way, but on the whole didn’t go to far out, however my car didn’t really want to play in the sun twice when I stopped and turned off the engine It wouldn’t start again until it had cooled down. (I Later found this to be connected to the way the cooling fan is wired) sounds strange I know, but if the fan is running the engine doesn’t start.
Anyway I didn’t win. So I don’t have to organize the next one Ha Ha and I’ll have to go out and get lost again. Bo Ho.
The winner was Mike Brian and he will be organizing the next hunt. Unfortunately this will be in the way of rhyming cryptic clues. That rules me out again then.
